Eid “goody” boxes for preschool

My daughter attends a preschool (not Islamic) and I wanted her to feel excited about celebrating Eid. I also wanted her to understand the value of giving and sharing, especially during Eid. I asked her teacher if we can share some goodies with the classroom. She even asked me to come in and talk about Eid Al-Adha. So here is what I came up with:

  • The boxes are from YAHsss. They are very easy to assemble and I got white and gold. The items fit perfectly inside!
  • I put in a lollipop by Yumearth
  • Playdoh
  • Thestickystation was kind enough to customize stickers! I was most excited about this item. I love the diversity shown, the globe, and the Eid Mubarak. She was great to work with. Check out her Etsy shop here.
  • Cute cupcake toppers by Noahscraps
  • Eid Mubarak Balloon by MuslimToysandDollsCo

I wanted to give something small and simple for the teachers too.

I also added a little poem inside the boxes so the parents understand why their kids are bringing home. Here’s what I came up with:

Hello! My name is Aminah

and I celebrated Eid Al-Adha

this past weekend with friends and the fam.

It’s a reminder of prophet Abraham.

It is a holiday I celebrated

and I played and prayed

It’s about sharing and charity

so here’s a treat for you and me!

I read Noor Kids Discover Their Blessings (just the Eid part) to the class. The kids loved the book and we talked about different types of holidays they celebrated.

How did you celebrate Eid with your children’s classroom?
